The average rent nationwide for a one-bedroom home is $1,105 per month and $1,342 for a two-bedroom home. Here in Wisconsin, the average rent for a one-bedroom home is $777 per month and $965 per month for a two-bedroom home.

While this is significantly less than the country average of rent, it still means that an individual earning minimum wage in Wisconsin must work 82 hours each week to make rent.

Southeast Wisconsin is home to two of the most expexive places to live. In the Kenosha County area, the average rent for a two-bedroom apartment is $1,066 and in Walworth County the average price per month is $964 for a two-bedroom.
